Product Reviews: Pureology Purify Shampoo
Introduction
If you love your hair (as most women do), the last thing you want is for it to have its color fade away. Yet the constant assault that it gets from buildup, sulfate shampoos, medication, colour-dulling chlorine and minerals from showers and pools will result in nothing but dull looking, brittle hair that’s too unhealthy to look good. Fortunately, there’s a way to get rid of all that unwanted stuff, thanks to Pureology’s 100% vegan purifier. Use this product and watch your hair shine with vibrant color and captivating brilliance because it has been returned to its natural, healthy condition.
Positives (Pros)
“My hair is so clean and the color doesn’t fade. at first I was worried because it doesn’t lather like normal shampoo but my hair is in fantastic shape, i use it once a week to keep my hair looking great.”

“The Pureology products are really fantastic. I just switched back to them after using store brand for a while, and with just one washing they made such a difference. I’m definitely not one to buy into expensive products, but these are really worth it.”

“I teach little kids to swim in a heavily chlorinated pool. I also have super long hair and the last 6 inches or so were always disgusting and dead looking and I could barely get a brush through it without ripping chunks of hair out. I walked into a Trade Secret store and asked them to suggest something to help and they recommended this. But when they told me the price ($27!!!), I was pretty skeptical. That night I came home, showered, and was shocked how much healthier and smooth my hair was! You only need a really small amount when washing, so it lasts. And I definitely recommend buying it on here…its the best price I’ve seen yet.”

“Pureology has always been one of my very favorite hair care lines, and this product has re-affirmed my love! A big misconception that people get with the Purify Shampoo is that it is a regular shampoo. IT IS NOT. Of course your hair is going to feel dry if you use it more than is recommended! (Recommended usage is 1x a week). It is the best and only thing to keep hair in tip-top shape concerning a clarifier. It gets rid of hard water/mineral water build up, styling residue, chlorine, among other things. Shampoo once a week with your Purify shampoo, rinse it out, and immediately follow that with your regular shampoo (some good ones if you feel dry are Pureology Hydrate or Pureology SuperStraight), rinse that out, then use your conditioner. The best thing I’ve found is doing this on my day of the week to Purify.
1. Purify Shampoo
2. Rinse
3. SuperStraight Shampoo
4. Rinse
5. Hydracure Intense Hydrating Treatment for 5-7 minutes (I’ll shave my legs)
6. Rinse
And then I’m good to go! The Hydracure is a Pureology moisture mask they say to use 1x a week, so I just save myself brain space and use them both on the same day. That takes care of the “dry hair” issue. I love love love the smell of the Purify, I think there are some essential oils in it. Love it!!”

“This shampoo is worth every penny. Being on the expensive side, it makes dyed and grey hair look smooth and silky. Also fixes the frizzes from to much heat. Try the conditioner and the root lift as well, your hair will look like a million bucks!

Negatives (Cons)
“I didn’t like this shampoo. The reviewer who said this shouldn’t be used on highlighted and color-treated hair was right. I wanted an effective but gentle clarifying shampoo for heavy styling product use and hard city water, but this product dries out my already-dry damaged hair and tangles it up in a terrible knot after rinsing. Using this shampoo always requires a super-slick detangling conditioner to get the knots out. I thought this sulfate-free formula would be very gentle but I am not a happy camper with this product. It doesn’t lather well and my hair afterward doesn’t feel particularly clean and clarified, only dried out and brittle. YUCK. I prefer KMS clarifying shampoo much better.”

“This shampoo left my hair a tangled, dull, dry mess. Even conditioner didnt really help it much after using this shampoo. It also felt like there was some build-up left on my hair from the shampoo itself. This was no better than a $1.99 bottle of Suave.”
