The Bottom Line: Realm is a great scent for that hard to please man. It is not strong or musky like some others, and has artificial sexual attraction chemicals added.

I have never been one to wear much cologne or perfume. I use unscented antiperspirant and aftershave. However several years ago I was introduced to Realm by a girlfriend who worked the perfume counter at a local Dillard’s. I preferred its base scent to any other available from the store. Dillard’s dropped Realm in the late 1990’s but it is still available online. If you have a husband or significant other who tends to not wear a scent, introduce them to Realm. It seems to be appreciated the most by members of the opposite sex, and for a special reason.

Realm is the first masculine scent I know of that contained synthesized human pheromones. This is said to give the wearer a boost of confidence and enhance their sexual image. I can say that some partners really enjoy this scent and I believe the science is solid. Smell is often an overlooked sense and it plays a great role in our interaction with others.

This scent does have a very sweet and high first note. (Galbanum, Bergamot, Lavender and California Oranges and Mandarin. ) It calms down quickly with my body chemistry and it is the base note that seems to really attract the most attention. ( Juniper Berry, Bois de Rose and Lisea Cubea, Ginger , Sandalwood and Gaiacwood , with a hint of Patchouli )

This size Realm can often be found from $13.99 to $24.99 so it is a good value. They also offer a small capped bottle you can get for free at most perfume counters with purchase. The scent is long lasting and you will not have to reapply after one use.

If you are looking for a new scent, or have forgotten this classic give Realm a try.

“An excellent scent with a little extra”

I have been wearing Realm exclusively for the past few years and get a number of comments from women about how nice the scent is. It is not too sweet or heavy, lasts a long time and I have noticed that some women seem to be very “friendly” when I have it on in social situations. It reportedly has pheremones in it so perhaps that is what is at work here. I strongly recommend guys buy this product if you want to smell good for the ladies and maybe get a little EXTRA attention!

“Cheap Smell”

Certainly not in the Hugo Boss, Armani, CK perfume class. I put perfumes in classes based on the scent smell not necessarily the name. This is in the B class. I am not impressed with it. I use light perfumes, its decently light but stays till the next day, so the staying power is good, but it just doesn’t have a classy smell. If you like the CKone, D&G light Blue you may not like this.

“Great”

I have used Realm for multiple years. Unfortunately it became difficult to find as department stores, one after one, stopped carrying it. Walmart was the last one to carry it, but they have ceased as well. Thank goodness for Amazon! This cologne is one of the coveted little secrets some of us know about, which is a great thing so you aren’t competing with your friends on who can use it on a night out!

“I teach little kids to swim in a heavily chlorinated pool. I also have super long hair and the last 6 inches or so were always disgusting and dead looking and I could barely get a brush through it without ripping chunks of hair out. “Pureology has always been one of my very favorite hair care lines, and this product has re-affirmed my love! A big misconception that people get with the Purify Shampoo is that it is a regular shampoo. IT IS NOT. Of course your hair is going to feel dry if you use it more than is recommended! (Recommended usage is 1x a week). It is the best and only thing to keep hair in tip-top shape concerning a clarifier. It gets rid of hard water/mineral water build up, styling residue, chlorine, among other things. Shampoo once a week with your Purify shampoo, rinse it out, and immediately follow that with your regular shampoo (some good ones if you feel dry are Pureology Hydrate or Pureology SuperStraight), rinse that out, then use your conditioner. The best thing I’ve found is doing this on my day of the week to Purify.

I wanted an effective but gentle clarifying shampoo for heavy styling product use and hard city water, but this product dries out my already-dry damaged hair and tangles it up in a terrible knot after rinsing. Using this shampoo always requires a super-slick detangling conditioner to get the knots out. I thought this sulfate-free formula would be very gentle but I am not a happy camper with this product. It doesn’t lather well and my hair afterward doesn’t feel particularly clean and clarified, only dried out and brittle. YUCK. I prefer KMS clarifying shampoo much better.”
